Roshan Doug was born in 1963 and has been educated in the UK (BA, Lancaster; MA, Nottingham; M.Phil & D.Ed Birmingham).

He taught English at Athens University for the British Council after which he worked in a number of private schools, FE colleges and universities. Since 1995 he has published five poetry collections and numerous academic papers on aspects of English teaching, pedagogy and education. As a journalist/critic, he has written for national newspapers such as The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Telegraph as well as BBC Radio 4.

The Radio Times has dubbed him ‘the Asian Poet Laureate’.
