Roshan Doug is policy adviser to European governments, consultant to a number of education establishments including International Education Management Agency, and UK examining boards. He also devising courses for universities and colleges and offers training to senior education management teams.

Roshan was born in 1963 and educated in the UK (BA, Lancaster; MA, Nottingham; D.Ed Birmingham). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a former Poet Laureate commissioned by Buckingham Palace and many government bodies both in Britain and abroad. Today he is also an art collector and investor dealing mainly with Indian art and artefact.

Roshan taught English at Athens University for the British Council after which he worked in a number of private schools, FE colleges and universities including Oxford and Cambridge. Since 1995 he has published six poetry collections and numerous academic papers on aspects of English teaching, pedagogy and education. As one of the leading commentators on British social policy, he has produced a range of articles for national publications such as The Guardian, The Sunday Times and The Telegraph as well as BBC Radio 4.

The Radio Times has dubbed him ‘the Asian Poet Laureate’.

Roshan is also a former magistrate, and avid art collector and investor. He is particularly interested in Indian art and artefact, and promoting Indian cultural history outside India. His family provide funding and sponsorships to theatres and expressive arts projects.
